I look at the dress or gown and then notice how I feel. There is a certain feeling in my body when the energy is there. Often I can close my eyes and imagine touching the garment and then I know if it expresses the angelic energy or not. It sounds weird, doesn't it? But I know that some of you will have a sense about what I mean. I would love to hear from you if you are experiencing something similar. Perhaps we can explore this phenomenon together. The dresses in the first, third and fourth pictures of the Andrea Dress have it. The sixth picture looks like it should have it, but when you see the dress physically, it does not.
The dresses in the first, second and fourth pictures of the Mitzi Dress have it.
View 1 and View 3 of the Elizabeth Nightgown have angelic energy.
The Hinds and Becker patterns, wonderful and beautiful as they are, do not express this energy.
Sometimes it is hard to know what makes it be there and what takes it away. I am working on a new pattern called the "Helen Dress." The first three trials clearly had the angelic energy. When I sewed the fourth trial, I used a ribbon with a gold thread on it as embellishment for the sleeve. The expression of angelic energy went flat and dead!
It is not just a matter of working with the most expensive materials. Some inexpensive materials work beautifully!
I think there are a lot of patterns available for doll dresses that could be used to express angelic energy. I am currently in the process of buying samples of some patterns and sewing them to make sure they work (and to make sure they fit the American Girl® Doll!). I will offer them for sale on the website if they work.
