These dolls are enjoying gingerbread cookies in their matching twin outfits. Both the dress and the pants are sewn from fabric printed with hearts and gingerbread men. The boy looks especially dapper in his button-front shirt with bow tie and pants with suspenders. The girl's dress has a collar with a hand embroidery technique called shadow applique. This is done by placing brightly colored fabric shapes, such as a heart, over a base fabric. A sheer overlay is placed over the top with the shapes visible from underneath, but they now have a more subdued color. The shapes are outlined with a running stitch done with matching sewing thread.
