The Story:

When Ana Ming rubs the magic moonstone around her neck she can be transported back to the days of the Yuan Dynasty in China. This is what is written about the beginning of her adventures there. It is up to her owner to fill in the rest of the story:

Lien Hua looked into her father's proud eyes. “Little Lotus Flower, how lovely you are!” he exclaimed.

Lien Hua smiled. Today, she had dressed in her most brilliant outfit to welcome Father home from a trip. Over a pearl white skirt, she had draped a rich red brocade robe. Gold brocade insets and floral trim decked the robe, like exotic butterflies. It was the last piece Grandmother had done, before the light stole from her eyes.

Now Father swept his arm around the room. “I have brought many treasures back. It would please me to have you choose one.”

Lien Hua gazed around the room in wonder. But then she saw it. Nothing else would do. Eagerly she grasped her gift and turned to Father.

He laughed. “It is an ordinary treasure. But if it pleases you…” Lien Hua breathlessly thanked him and flew out the door. Only when she came to a room deep in the house did she pause.

“Grandmother,” she said quietly. A loving face with sightless eyes turned to Lien Hua. “I have something for you,” Lien Hua whispered.

Gently she fastened the treasure around Grandmother's neck. Her grandmother's hand met Lien Hua's, before dropping to the necklace. Curious fingers wove around the strand. Then a rare light flashed in her grandmother's eyes as she recognized the shape of the stones. Grasping her granddaughter's hand, she smiled. “My Lotus Flower has given me lotus flowers.”
