Vintage Doll Clothes - Jack Tar Suit

Vintage doll clothes, Jack Tar Sailor Suit
Jack Tar Suit

From the early 1800s right through to the 1930s, the sailor suit was the most popular and widely worn form of dress for young boys. The Jack Tar suit, named after the British sailor, was given added popularity by Queen Victoria's sons.

The pattern includes directions to make the tunic, sailor collar, bell bottoms, undershirt, sailor hat and long black stockings.

Skeleton Suit

You can adapt the pattern to make a summer sailor suit or a Skeleton Suit (pictured above).

The pattern for these vintage doll clothes is sized for a doll that is 22 inches tall. Directions are given to modify it for those that are from 14 to 25 inches tall.
