18-inch doll furniture includes lemonade stand

Dolls like to play outdoors just like children. The 18" doll furniture in the Outdoor Fun setting consists of a lemonade stand made with a couple of wood-stained overturned crates and a bench. Sitting on top of the lemonade stand is a pink glass pitcher with glasses ready to serve imaginary lemonade. A bright yellow bench is sponged with white paint to give it a speckled appearance. The sections of white picket fence have silk flowers attached to a few of the pickets. The outdoor backdrop for this setting is made with a mottled blue fabric to look like the sky.

The park bench has a colorful chair pad with piping around the edge. A beach bag sits on one corner. The bag, made from a woven plastic placemat with small holes, can be found in discount and department stores. A piece of soft plastic needlepoint canvas could be used instead.

One of the 18" dolls wears a cool summer dress with a small ruffle. The other wears shorts and a t-shirt with a money apron for all the coins they hope to collect from selling lemonade. The pattern book includes full patterns for the clothing, setting and accessories but relies on unfinished 18" doll furniture for things like the park bench. You can make your own furniture using our woodworking book "Making Doll Furniture in Wood."

The 18" doll furniture and clothing patterns fit "vinyl" dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The doll furniture and patterns are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© by The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™, Our Generation™, Tolly Girl® and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the clothing patterns slightly for a better fit.
