The princess bedroom is truly fit for a princess and is sized for the American Girl Doll© or other 18-inch vinyl dolls! The doll bedroom furniture is painted pink and given a sparkle varnish. Curled ribbons and fluffy bows accent the bedposts, rocker and dressing table. This pattern book includes directions to make the dressing table and cover the sides of it with fabric and eyelet lace trim. The bed has a foam mattress complete with sheets and a bed skirt. The walls of the backdrop feature a popular ballet theme.

The pieced quilt has a scalloped side edge with small fabric bows on top of each scallop. The pillow sham has machine embroidered ballet shoes as the center motif, but a purchased applique can be used instead. The chair has a fancy eyelet-lace trimmed chair pad. The small rug is an actual fabric braided rug.

Our 18-inch vinyl doll wears a cozy flannel nightgown made from the pattern in the book. Her ballet slippers are on the braided rug.

This is truly a setting that will be appreciated by the little girls in your life. The pink, purple and aqua theme is so popular with them right now. I find it to be just a ball to go to the paint stores and find just the right scrap of wallpaper for the background setting and then to hit the fabric store for a matching nightgown and accessories. Matching the paint is easy with all the different shades of colors now available.

Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the nightgown pattern slightly for a better fit.
