Doll furniture fits 18-inch dolls

This whimsical bedroom which fits the American Girl Doll® is cleverly decorated with coordinating fabrics. It was planned with the popular ladybug motif as a major design element. Ladybugs are found on many fabric prints and your room could be adapted to a particular fabric print. The background is a green and white checked fabric that is mimicked on the paint design of the furniture, which includes a wardrobe, headboard, nightstand and a cradle. The mattress has a checked bed skirt that covers three sides. The furniture is painted with dots and squares with ladybug decals marching across.

Red accents are used in this highly decorated room. The quilt may look daunting, but is actually three pieced sections connected with red fabric strips. The large ladybug in the section is a paper pieced square. This is an easy technique that can replicate simple objects. The bedding for the cradle is a coverlet with a ruffle.

Our doll is wearing a fashionable peasant top and Capri pants that are accented with a bow and ladybug buttons.

Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the clothing pattern slightly for a better fit.
