Learning is lots of fun if you study in this colorful classroom. The backdrop is made from yellow fabric with a border cut from the same school-themed fabric used for the floor. The wooden doll furniture is painted in bright colors. The denim jumper worn by our doll is easy to construct with the small overall buckles and buttons. The optional embroidery on the bib front is done with an embroidery sewing machine. It is worn over a long-sleeved striped t-shirt that can be sewn on a sewing machine or a serger. Her green twill backpack, a necessity for school today, features a zipper at the top and webbing straps. As an alternative to the desk and chair shown here, you might want to consider the school desk in our pattern book of wooden doll furniture. (Of course, you or someone you know would have the woodworking skills to make the desk.) This darling desk is a very authentic replica of an old-fashioned school desk. It could be painted in the bright colors shown in this colorful classroom, or finished with a wood stain. The wooden doll furniture setting and clothing patterns fit "vinyl" dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The wooden doll furniture setting and patterns are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© by The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™, Our Generation™, Tolly Girl® and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the clothing patterns slightly for a better fit.
