Brazilian clothes for 18-inch dolls: Bahia, the first capital of Brazil, is a mixture of three ethnic groups: Portuguese, African, and indigenous peoples. The clothes shown here, from the pre-Lenten Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, evolved from the peasant dress worn in that region. The elaborate dress consists of a blouse with puffy sleeves, a skirt with many tiers, and a decorated head wrap. The decorations can be large feathers, cascades of flowers, or fake fruit (the fruit originates from the old-time street vendors who carried it in baskets on their heads). Lots of makeup and jewelry are worn with the clothes for the festival of parades and parties. Our Brazilian clothes for 18-inch dolls includes dress, head wrap.

Brazilian clothes fit 18-inch dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The Brazilian clothes are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the pattern slightly for a better fit.
