the Netherlands for 18-Inch Dolls

Dutch clothes for 18-inch dolls: This Dutch festival dress is from the fishing village of Volendam. The most remarkable aspect of these clothes is the hul, or winged cap, made from white lace. The costume includes a square-necked short-sleeved blouse with the neckline filled in with chintz. This fabric was originally imported by the Dutch East Indian Co. Strands of coral beads are often worn around the neck. A red and black striped skirt is worn underneath a black apron with a chintz top. Wooden shoes, or clogs, are worn for everyday wear with Dutch clothes. It was a custom for young men to present their fiancees with shoes that they had carved and painted. The model wear "wooden" shoes that are formed from felted wool fabric and embroidered with cotton floss. Pattern includes blouse, skirt, apron, hat and "wooden" shoes.

Dutch clothes fit 18-inch dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The Dutch clothes are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. The Dutch clothes will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the pattern slightly for a better fit.
