Irish clothes for 18-inch dolls: The renewed popularity of Irish dance productions has made these clothes familiar. Traditionally the costume was based on a simple princess cut dress with a gored or pleated skirt that allowed free leg movement. The brightly colored decorations on the bodice and skirt are Celtic designs that can either be embroidered or appliquéd in bright colors. The shoes can be hard or soft leather and are laced with ribbons across the front of the foot. The model wears a green dress with a purple box pleat in the skirt. The Celtic design is made from metallic gold fusible bias tape. Her shoes are easy to sew from soft leather and satin ribbons. This Irish clothes pattern includes dress, cape, and shoes.

Irish clothes fit 18-inch dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The Irish clothes are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the pattern slightly for a better fit.
