Nigerian clothing for 18-inch dolls: Bright colors are abundant in Nigerian clothing. Block printing or batik, a tie-dyeing process, gives bold patterns to the cotton fabrics. The model wears a loose-fitting blouse with a wrap skirt. A special cloth or sash is draped around the waist and can be used to carry babies. Girls may invent their own style of wrapping the head-tie. Jewelry made from a variety of decorative beads is worn around the neck, arms, and ankles. This model wears sandals with stiffened felt soles and elastic for the straps. The sewing pattern for Nigerian clothing includes the blouse, skirt, sash, head-tie, shoes and jewelry. Nigerian clothing fits 18-inch dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The Nigerian clothing is actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. It will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the pattern slightly for a better fit. Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.
