SAGA Raffle smocking outfits

This dress is made from rice (off-white) batiste and features coral ribbon, floss and tiny coral seed beads sprinkled throughout the smocking.

SAGA (Smocking Arts Guild of America) held a raffle to promote smocking and other fine sewing techniques in March of 2012. They raffled off an 18-inch doll and a wardrobe of around twenty different hand made outfits. This dress was part of that collection. You might want to check SAGA out, it is a fun organization for those of us who love to sew.

The models wearing the smocked dresses are Dress Me Dolls© from The Martha Pullen Company.

This smocked dress pattern fits 18" dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The pattern was actually sized on The American Girls Collection®, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and Dress Me Dolls© from The Martha Pullen Company (these dolls are the same size). The Gali Girl Dolls, Avon's Madame Alexander Dolls and Our Generation Dolls are a little thinner.

Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.

Infinite Freedom

My prayer is for a world so safe and abundant...
where all who love to sew are free to sew...
where all have the resources they need to sew...
and no strife or war can touch anyone who wants to sew.
