This book of sewing patterns for dolls includes this darling Medieval Princess dress. The bodice has the typical square insert in front with a curved neckline in the back. The long, pointed sleeves are lined in satin and feature lame' in the lower sleeves. A silver rope is tied at the waist with a square knot. A pattern for dancing slippers is included.
Here in Colorado we have a large Renaissance fair every summer. The style of this dress reminds me of many of the dresses worn in the fair. While I have never seen a dress made from satin and lame' and trimmed so elegantly at the fair, the cut is exactly the same. These sewing patterns have directions for slender and regular 18-inch dolls. The slender size fits Magic Attic Club® dolls and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. The regular size of the sewing patterns fits 18-inch dolls with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The sewing patterns are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the sewing patterns slightly for a better fit. Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.
