The doll clothes pattern for the Princess Elizabeth costume is a rendition of dresses worn by Queen Elizabeth of England. It does not show in the picture above, but there is a lined velveteen cape edged in gold trim draped across the back of the doll. The dress is made from gold brocade and trimmed with fancy beaded trim. The ribbon is worn over the right shoulder and under the left arm, overlapping at the hip. It is pinned with a costume jewelry pin. The model wears a purchased tiara.
Just for fun, you might want to visit the Official Website for the British Monarchy at http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page1.asp. The website has information about Queen Elizabeth and also other members of the Royal Family who support her. You can read their biographies and also find information about the Queen's 50-year reign and her Golden Jubilee in 2002. I (Sally) have always admired Queen Elizabeth for her wisdom and complete dedication to the people of her country. I so admire the courage and steadiness she showed during World War II. And I just love having a doll clothes pattern that emulates the dresses she wore. This doll clothes pattern has directions for a slender and regular 18-inch doll. The slender size fits Magic Attic Club® dolls and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. The regular size of the doll clothes pattern fits 18-inch dolls with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The doll clothes pattern is actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. It will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the doll clothes pattern slightly for a better fit. Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.
