Now this is doll dress design at its finest. The picture does not do justice to the cape draped across the back of our model. The cape has a tall ruffle that frames the doll's head beautifully. A smaller ruffle runs all around the cape and the soft fabric is enchanting. The dress itself is made from multicolored metallic lace fabric with a scalloped selvage and Twinkle satin. The trim is silver braid, lace and sequins with two diamond-shaped sew-on jewels. Lovely design!

One of the nicest things about the design of the doll dress patterns in this book is that almost all the pieces interchange with each other. For example, you could put the sleeves from the Princess Sapphire costume on the Princess Elizabeth outfit or the bodice from Princess Aurora on Princess Sapphire. It is so fun to play with the designs like this!

These doll dress patterns have directions for a slender and regular 18-inch doll. The slender size fits Magic Attic Club® dolls and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls.

The regular size doll dress patterns fit 18-inch dolls with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The patterns are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the doll dress design patterns slightly for a better fit.
