Our doll dress patterns include this stunning Starlight Princess pattern. The bodice is made from a knit sequin-type fabric and the underskirt is made from iridescent satin. The rest of the outfit is from star print organza. Notice the elegant gathered puffy neckline decoration. The peplum finishes it off with that "princess" look. You cannot see it in the picture, but the band around the sleeves is trimmed with a row of sequins. I (Sally) made this costume in a soft green and found that the sequins on the sleeves really stood out! The pattern includes dancing slippers which can be made from the organza for a "glass slipper" look or can be made from satin. Our model is an older doll made by Götz Dolls® originally dressed as Cinderella. The Götz brand used to be sold in fine toy stores. Incidentally, the authors of the book placed an old borrowed rhinestone necklace on the model for added sparkle. A purchased tiara adds the finishing touch. These doll dress patterns have directions for a slender and regular 18-inch doll. The slender size fits Magic Attic Club® dolls and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. The regular size doll dress patterns fit 18-inch dolls with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The doll dress patterns are actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. They will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the doll dress patterns slightly for a better fit. Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.
