This beautiful Tudor Princess dress and hat for an 18-inch doll is made of velveteen and crinkled metallic silk. Looking at the dress, it would appear that there is both a dress and a jumper. However, it is all one piece. The hat is very easy to make. The velveteen pieces of the hat are zigzagged together with buckram (or interfacing) in the middle and finished with gold trim. A piece of elastic runs around the back of the head to hold the hat in place.

The model in the picture was made by Götz Dolls® and used to be sold in fine toy stores.

This 18-inch doll sewing pattern has directions for a slender and regular 18-inch doll. The slender size fits Magic Attic Club® dolls and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls.

The regular size for the 18-inch doll sewing pattern fits dolls with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The doll sewing pattern is actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. It will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the doll sewing pattern slightly for a better fit.
