The storybook clothes for Scarlett O'Hara include patterns for the Barbecue dress, slippers, sunbonnet, parasol, corset, pantalets and hooped petticoat.

Scarlett O'Hara is off to the barbecue in her beautiful spring green dress that has a low cut bodice and three rows of self-fabric ruffles edged in dark green and trimmed with bows. The full skirt is six times the doll's waistline and held out by a hooped petticoat. A dark green velvet belt is attached to the self-lined bodice and the dress fastens at the back for four snap fasteners.

The storybook clothes would not be complete without the slippers to match her clothes. Scarlett is wearing a pair of green velvet slippers the same color as her belt.

A large straw hat with wide green ribbon ties will keep the bright sunshine out of Scarlett's eyes. And, her pretty green parasol is an indispensable fashion accessory for her storybook clothes. It not only complements her outfit but also will protect her peaches and cream complexion from the sun. Sometimes she may use it as an instrument of propriety to ward off the unwanted attentions of the opposite sex.

Scarlett O'Hara was not beautiful, but men seldom realized it when caught by her charm as the Tarleton twins were. In her face were too sharply blended the delicate features of her mother, a Coast aristocrat of French descent, and the heavy ones of her florid Irish father. But it was an arresting face, pointed of chin, square of jaw. Her eyes were pale green without a touch of hazel, starred with bristly black lashes and slightly tilted at the ends. Above them, her thick black brows slanted upward, cutting a startling oblique line in her magnolia-white skin --- that skin so prized by Southern women and so carefully guarded with bonnets, veils and mittens against hot Georgia suns.

The storybook clothes pattern is sized for a doll that is 24 inches tall. Directions are given to modify it for a doll that is from 14 to 25 inches tall.

The model wearing the storybook clothes is a reproduction of the German Mein Liebling (My Darling) from the author's collection.
