American Girl Doll sewing pattern for fringed flapper dresses, slip and purses

Take your American Girl Doll back to the Roaring Twenties in these swingy flapper dresses! Both versions boast swishy rayon chain fringe. The shorter, red version is fringed all over, with narrow straps and sequin trim. The coordinating envelope handbag is also embellished with fringe. The highlight of the longer ecru netting dress is the shaped, dropped waistline, below which dance two rows of fringe and an edging of wide lace. Beautiful braid outlines the waist. This dress is sleeveless, and it's narrow-strapped companion slip is made of rose satin. The elegant purse which completes this ensemble looks like it is made out of a metallic-sparked tapestry; actually, it is several rows of jacuard ribbon stitched together. A single button provides the closure, and rose-and-gold cord makes the handle. Add a long bead necklace, and your doll is right in style.
