Susan Pennington Stewart's American Girl Doll Pattern for jeans, fleece pullover, sweater , stocking cap and backpack

This darling pattern from Susan Pennington Stewart will put your doll right in style during the winter months. The pattern has two views. One view offers straight-let corduroy jeans topped with a plush sweater. The other view sports flared jeans with ribbon trim, and a fleece pullover with zippered front and collar. Both views have matching stocking caps, and since your doll will need to carry school books, both outfits feature cute stylish backpacks.

Note: Sweater, pullover, and caps are for stretch knits ONLY.

Susan Pennington Stewart has a fascinating background in sewing and designing heirloom garments. She started sewing at a very young age and was sewing many of her own clothes by the time she was 9-10 years old. Susan says she picked up a copy of Sew Beautiful magazine back in 1988 and was really drawn to the beautiful heirloom sewing in the magazine. She had grown up on a farm in Missouri, had a college degree in chemistry and had never seen such beautiful materials and sewing techniques.

Susan began to sew the designs she saw in the magazine. However, rather than sewing all the garments by hand, she developed techniques to sew them on the sewing machine. When Martha Pullen saw what Susan Pennington Stewart was doing, she hired her to work for the magazine. The rest is history. Susan went on to become the primary designer for the Martha Pullen Company's endeavors.

The pattern is sized to fit 18-inch dolls such as the American Girl Doll.

My prayer is for a world so safe and abundant...
where all who love to sew are free to sew...
where all have the resources they need to sew...
