Sewing Pattern Book "Sew Today's Fashions For 18-Inch Dolls" - $22.99

First Communion Dress and Veil

First Communion is celebrated with a white dress and short veil. The outfit shown here is very similar to the flower girl dress. The yoke is made from the satin, however, so it does not appear to be sheer. The overskirt is made from lace fabric that has a scalloped edge on the selvedge. You will cut along this edge for the skirt instead of widthwise. The netting and ribbon veil is attached to a barrette for easy placement at the back of the doll's head.

The model is an Ultimate Girls Club Doll®

This sewing pattern fits 18-inch vinyl dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Gotz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The pattern was actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Gotz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. It will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Tolly Girl®, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Tolly Girl®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the pattern slightly for a better fit.

This doll sewing pattern book features contemporary clothing that works beautifully with the Just Like You American Girl Dolls®. While Joan Hinds was designing the sewing patterns for this book, she put together a group of young girls as her "guidance team" and met with them regularly to discuss her ideas for sewing patterns. The team gave her feedback on which of the outfits they would like to have sewn for their dolls. Joan discovered that the girls were most excited about the clothing styles that was popular with the age group slightly older than themselves, namely those in middle school. If you think about sewing designs so that your American Girl doll would be fashionable in middle school, you cannot miss. The sewing patterns in this book really hit the mark. You could take your child and her doll to the American Girl Place and be right in style with doll clothing personally designed and sewn by you and your child.

Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.
