This sewing pattern book for 18" dolls has 30 different outfits of the preteen clothes that are so popular today. The pattern pieces are printed on tissue paper and included in an envelope in the back of the book. There is no need to copy of trace them.

What I personally like about Joan's sewing patterns is that they are designed to use the simplest sewing techniques possible for doll clothes and yet to produce clothing that is very durable. The clothes will withstand the abuse that only a child excited about changing her doll's outfits can put out. These sewing patterns are designed to be sewn on the sewing machine and to be made quickly. If you are teaching your child to sew, you can start with the simplest patterns in the book and work your way up to the more complicated.

The sewing patterns fit 18" dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The patterns were actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. It will also fit the following 18" dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Tolly Girl®, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Tolly Girl®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the sewing pattern slightly for a better fit.
