The pattern book also includes a beach towel tote bag so your doll can carry her beach towel and other accessories. An embroidered felt pocket is applied to one end of a purchased hand towel. Straps for carrying are made from ribbon and attached to the towel and the felt pocket. When your doll is ready to go home, the towel can quickly be folded into the bag. Don't forget the sunscreen! Next pattern: Fleece Jacket, Hat, Scarf and Flared Jeans with Yoke The model is an Our Generation Doll® This sewing pattern fits 18-inch vinyl dolls (those with vinyl head, arms and legs and a cloth stuffed body) such as The American Girls Collection® by the Pleasant Company, Götz Dolls® (non-designer) and many others. The pattern was actually designed to fit The American Girls Collection® and Götz Dolls® (non-designer) loosely to allow for individual differences in the stuffing of the dolls. It will also fit the following dolls: Dress Me Doll© from The Martha Pullen Company, Tolly Girl®, Faithful Friends Collection®, Liberty Landing®, Girls on the Go®, Savannah of Storybook Heirlooms™, Laura Ashley®, Collector's Lane®, Creative Doll Company®, Springfield Collection®, Sophia's Heritage Collection®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™ and miscellaneous composition and porcelain dolls. Since some dolls, such as Liberty Landing®, Tolly Girl®, Autumn Harvest™ and Our Generation™, are a little thinner, you may want to check the size of your doll and adjust the pattern slightly for a better fit.
This doll sewing pattern book features contemporary clothing that works beautifully with the Just Like You American Girl Dolls®. While Joan Hinds was designing the sewing patterns for this book, she put together a group of young girls as her "guidance team" and met with them regularly to discuss her ideas for sewing patterns. The team gave her feedback on which of the outfits they would like to have sewn for their dolls. Joan discovered that the girls were most excited about the clothing styles that was popular with the age group slightly older than themselves, namely those in middle school. If you think about sewing designs so that your American Girl doll would be fashionable in middle school, you cannot miss. The sewing patterns in this book really hit the mark. You could take your child and her doll to the American Girl Place and be right in style with doll clothing personally designed and sewn by you and your child. Infinite Freedom and Sally Robertson are not associated with any of the above named dolls or companies in any way.
